Product Description
This is a USB to serial port convertor with a USB-B socket and an FTDI FT230X, USB to basic UART IC, with power output. Ideal for serial ports where the other device is running at lower voltages or requires a regulated supply.
 
Regulated Supply
The module provides a regulated output of 300mA, provided from a linear convertor, with short circuit protection. A range of boards are available with different IO voltages.
 
IO Voltage
An on board linear convertor provides the logic side voltage and the external power source and hence they are the same.
 
Serial Port
The serial port provides the following features:
FT230X driver chip
Receive, Transmit and Power LEDs
RTS/CTS connections available for higher data rates
